Day 1 Advent Devotional | December 4th

Pastor Kirk Kay   -

Hebrews 6:19-20b

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us,

I am so thankful you are joining us on this journey this advent season where we will focus our attention on the hope, love, joy, and peace that come from God and God alone. As we begin this season, you might find yourself living in interesting times. The world around us is wrought with uncertainty and calamity. Days can appear heavy and hopeless, but I want you to know that there is always reason to be encouraged.

Despite all the ambiguity this world has to offer, there is One who is never uncertain. Since the foundation of the world, “God with us” was always His plan. He knew that we needed hope, and His greatest provision of hope is found in Jesus Christ. Jesus can be the anchor of your soul, and the hope found in Christ is always guaranteed and unchanging.

This advent season, I pray above all that Jesus is your hope. The world will eventually fail and fade away, but God will always remain. There is comfort to be found in Jesus’ presence because He alone is unchanging and our one guarantee.

Prayer: Father, thank you for hope. You alone are steadfast. You alone are our guarantee. You have gone before us, and you promise to remain with us. You are my all in all. Today I declare that my hope is found in nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and His righteousness
