Day 7 Advent Devotional | December 10th

Titus 2:11-13

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

We all love the appearance of pleasant things in our lives, such as thoughtful gifts from loved ones on out birthdays, or delectable meals set before us at supper time. We love it when we receive well-earned promotions at work or a caring neighbor performs a kind deed on our behalf.

Today, let us focus our attention on the phrase “the grace of Gd has appeared.” What an incomprehensibly wonderful gift we have received in the gift of God’s grace appearing to us in the form of God’s own Son, the sinless God-Man. God’s grace, His undeserved, unmerited favor towards all who trust in Him for salvation is unparalleled in its beauty and in its glory! And then we see the goodness of God as revealed in “the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Think about this for a minute. God’s matchless grace has appeared to US, guilty sinners deserving only death and not only that, but God’s glory shines through His only Son who alone saves us, molds us, conforms us to live a sensible, righteous, and godly life, reflecting the beautiful face of Jesus to a lost and dying world all around us that searches in the darkness for that hope. And, my friends, King Jesus IS the gracious, glorious Hope of the world!

Prayer: Father in heaven, I ask that You show me Your grace and Your glory, as I humble strive to display Your love through the way I love out my life in this world. In Your victorious name I pray, Amen.
